The PTI said that reducing the GST on two-wheelers will be an important capacity and for the first time buyers, especially in rural and semi-urban areas, in which the two-wheelers live the spine of personal mobility, they will provide them with the necessary discounts.Prior to the meeting of the GST Council on September 3 and 4, Munjal welcomed the government’s proposed reforms and potential deductions on two -wheelers and called “progressive steps” which will significantly increase the accessibility and capacity of millions of Indians, especially their first vehicle.
He further emphasized that the two -wheeler industry is not only the main driver of personal and rural mobility but also an important pillar of the national economy, which has a huge contribution to government revenue and creates employment in its wide value chain. Currently, two -wheelers of engine capacity up to C350C CC attract 5 per cent percent GST, while people with more than C350 CC are with 5 per cent 10 per cent GST and Percent percent compensation cess, PTI said.
The meeting of the GST Council will be deliberately planned on the improvement plan of the Center, which is proposed to be taxed by 5 percent or 18 per cent on most goods.
